Electrical Works Update

18 Dec 2013
Its a while since my last update. Been busy procrastinating. Anyway, here's an update of what had been done so far.
Holes were cut to prepare for installation of down lights:-

Next I needed to paint the plaster ceiling before they install the lights.

Got a quotation from a contractor who quoted RM12,500 to paint the exterior and interior of house. A voice called out to me:"Expensive!" Hence, I asked him about painting the newly installed plaster ceiling only. Guest what, RM2,000.
I decided to roll up my sleeves and do it myself.

Painting plaster ceiling

Bought this tub of 18 liter white paint for RM68. Painted all the plastered ceiling with a quarter remaining. Was told not to use it on the walls as it will develop powder after a few years. Did not know that and painted some parts of the wall. Will have to repaint the wall with new paint later.

Below are some pics of the completed paint job:-

Meanwhile, we continue our search for lamps.

We got a pair of this lamp for our living room. Hopefully it will fit in well. Keeping fingers crossed.

Did not take the other lights and fans cos they don't allow. Will update when they are installed.

Now, will show pics of installed down lights:-

I will update more on the lights after the next installation.

  1. Looks like you're in the final stages of your renovation! Nice to see you making decisions on which lamps and fans to use and not just picking out the first thing that you'd see. Continue on updating us with your renovation. We wanna see how it turns out!
