Plaster Ceiling Works

28th October 2013 Monday

Today mark the start of our plaster ceiling installation.

Dining Area
The installation begins at the dining area

Here the supporting beams are installed first.

Next the unwanted beams are cut out to get the opening at the center.

Up goes the plaster ceiling.

The wire and support for the fan goes into place.

The surface is then even out with plaster to give a smooth look.

29th October 2013 Tuesday

The plaster ceiling installation continues today at the living area.

The process is the same as the dining area.

Here, I only took pictures of the almost completed work.

Electrical wiring work

23rd October 2013
Our electrical works are underway.

Car Porch

New points for our wall hanging lights. Not visible here are the wires that were concealed coming from the ceiling.

This picture showing one of the existing lighting point on the ceiling, and the point for the wall light on the opposite pillar. Unfortunately, the ceiling wires were already concealed when this picture was taken.

Living Room

Not sure what is this for, but I believe he is preparing the wires for the light box.

This is how it looks like when he finished.

Dining Area

Looping wires for a new 13A wall socket.

Wires prepared for down lights and fan.

2 holes are drilled to loop wires for new points in the dry kitchen.

The hole to the right is coming from the store room, where the main circuit breakers are located.

The hole to the left is leading to the dry kitchen area.

Store Room

The hole is drilled inorder to lay wire to the dry kitchen and staircase.
This hole leads to the dining area as shown above.

Dry Kitchen Area

The wires had to be run from the store room via the top and utility room so that it can be hidden from sight and without hacking any of the tiles.

This is how it looks like after installing the wall sockets.

These sockets will be used for the refrigerator and ovens

The wires for this new wall socket is coming from the store room via the outside route shown below.

2 tiles have to be hacked off to run the wires.

The hole to the right of the window is leading to the dry kitchen.

The hole to the left of the window is coming from the store room.

The highest hole on the wall is leading to the new wall socket at the staircase.

This is taken from the utility room.

These holes are for looping the wires for the wall socket at the dry kitchen as explained above.

The wires are run from the store room via the top of the dry kitchen and down and out to the wall socket on the other side of the wall.

Staircase Area

We found the original lighting point to be too low and installing a lamp here will cause something or someone's head to hit it.

The wall socket below is basically a new point for the purpose of using a vacuum.

The lighting point is moved to the sides and brought higher to be in line with the center of the window

Yard

We needed more wall socket points at the yard.
4 tiles were hacked off to run the wire to the outside.

There isn't any lighting point outside the yard. Therefore, we had to run a new lighting point.

We also added a water-proofed wall socket.

Fan and Lights

We were out sourcing for lighting and fan. Found some that we like.

This fan has wooden blades. And some selection of lamps to attach to it. It included a lamp that we think match what we have in mind for our hanging lights. It is also possible to modified to be equip with remote control.

My wife likes this lamp.

Aircon and water pump Installation

Our next installation is air conditioning.

Compressors on roof edge

Water pump to add water pressure to the whole house.

Water pump fitted next to the water tank just above the family area upstairs.
